Job One is Leading the fight against COVID
The Missouri Chamber has launched a COVID Stops Here campaign calling on employers across the state to talk to employees about the importance of being vaccinated.
Companies and other workplaces that reach a 70% vaccination rate are eligible to receive the COVID Stops Here designation. There are separate designations for companies that reach 80% and then 90% vaccination rates.
We are celebrating employers that are leading the fight against this virus — and encouraging more Blue Springs workplaces to join their ranks, by sharing their stories. If your business has reached 70% or higher vaccination status, let us know and we'll be sure to celebrate you too!
Job One is a social enterprise that builds skills and connections that create employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Many of the individuals we serve have comorbidity and their health, welfare, and safety is one of our greatest priorities. Showing those we serve that we care was a driving force for the majority of our staff to get vaccinated.
With 42 staff members and having served 428 individuals last fiscal year, we're proud to be 95% vaccinated! In January 2021 we were fortunate enough to host an on-site vaccination event to make it easy and convenient for our staff to participate. A great majority of our staff was thrilled to do their part to receive the vaccine, to show that level of kindness to their peers and individuals we serve. There were a handful of staff members who opted to take PTO to reflect and do research on the vaccinations and were encouraged to return once they were vaccinated. Other staff members took this as a their time to exit Job One and seek alternative employment.
In February 2021, we held an on-site vaccination event for employees (persons served by Job One) as well as a second dose vaccination event for staff members. And in March 2021 we held a second dose event for employees.
