The Buy Blue Springs initiative was started in 2009 at the suggestion of one of our chamber members, Mark Whitlow of Office Products Alliance.  The goals of the taskforce were:  to partner with local merchants to help shoppers choose local vendors and suppliers to support and sustain the business community and local economy of Blue Springs, to educate business owners and consumers on how buying locally supports city services and general operations by generating multiple taxes, educate the community on how when dollars are spent in Blue Springs, they stay in Blue Springs through a multitude of different channels.

The committee also promotes tourism in Blue Springs by urging visitors to shop, dine, play and stay in Blue Springs.
