Columbia College is leading the fight against COVID!

The Missouri Chamber has launched a COVID Stops Here campaign calling on employers across the state to talk to employees about the importance of being vaccinated.

Companies and other workplaces that reach a 70% vaccination rate are eligible to receive the COVID Stops Here designation. There are separate designations for companies that reach 80% and then 90% vaccination rates.

We are celebrating employers that are leading the fight against this virus — and encouraging more Blue Springs workplaces to join their ranks, by sharing their stories. If your business has reached 70% or higher vaccination status, let us know and we’ll be sure to celebrate you too!

It's important to Columbia College - Kansas City to be vaccinated against COVID-19 because they serve a variety of student populations, many of whom desire to have a face-to-face, in-seat class experience. "We can only do that if we physical location is safely open. Keeping our doors open and our offices fully-staffed is a team effort and can only be accomplished if we all do our part to reduce the public health risk." says Cindy Miller, Director of Columbia College - Kansas City.

When asked how they approached encouraging staff members to get vaccinated, Miller states "The scientific evidence is clear that the vaccine is a safe way to prevent or lessen the severity of the disease in all age groups. As Spock said on Star Trek, “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few – or the one.” 😊 We are a college, and in order for our community to survive and thrive, we must be “collegial” in unifying our efforts to eradicate this disease through vaccination."

Columbia College - Kansas City has 4 full-time employees and several part-time employees. Columbia College as a whole employs nearly 2,000 full and part-time people across the country.
